Take a look at a couple of shots from our session yesterday with Angela Blake! We shot at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spring day. The weather was just right for little bare feet and everything was in bloom. Angie was sweet and patient with our kiddos; her laid-back style made for a fun afternoon for everyone. Owen, Kathryn, and Sullivan let Angie take their pictures for an hour and a half, giving her big smiles the entire time. I was impressed, that's our longest portrait session ever. I'm so proud of you guys!(Of course, the constant bribing with jelly beans probably helped some.) I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!
Melt my heart! My sweet babies.
We took this one on our way to another location in the gardens. Owen and Sullivan were needing a little consoling (and some jelly beans), but that didn't stop K from posing. Look at her little leg! Too cute.

Glycerin v. PureFlow
I bought some new shoes yesterday and they are fantastic!! Lately my runs have been three miles or less and I don't always feel the need for the thick, cushiony shoes I've been wearing. My old shoes were also feeling a little bulky during classes at the gym and it was annoying me. Needing something supportive, comfy, and lighter in weight, I went to The Trak Shak to find a new pair of kicks. Those guys are always right on the money. I'm pretty sure I'll never buy another pair of running shoes without their help...I'm afraid if I do, I'll buy the wrong shoe and waste money. Did I mention they give a military discount too? I told them I loved my Brooks Glycerins, but wanted something lighter for shorter runs and gym sessions. He brought out three pairs of shoes and the Brooks PureFlow were without question the most comfortable. I wore them today to ycross and it took a little getting used to. I didn't feel like I was working out barefoot or anything, but I could tell within seconds there was definitely less shoe below me. I'm looking forward to testing them out on the road soon. I wish they'd had them in another color though - this pair has the same color combo as my last pair. Oh well. Here's to happy feet!
Glycerin - the BEST running shoe I've ever owned. I'm convinced it's why I have very little knee pain when I run. (Well, up until lately that is) Plenty of room in the toe area and oh-so-cushiony.
PureFlow - light weight and just as comfortable as the Glycerin. Haven't road tested them yet, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Who Needs A Nap?
This little dude does. As hard as he fights it, he still needs one. This week I think he's taken one nap and that's not a good thing...for any of us. He'll refuse his 12:30ish nap and then around 3:30 or so I'll find him asleep in his room, on the sofa, or in Daddy's chair or he'll pass out in his car seat as soon as we get on the road. I tell him all the time that if he doesn't want to sleep I will gladly trade places with him at nap and that he can do all of my "Mommy work" and I'll go to bed. I guess doing chores is even less fun than taking a nap because he's yet to take me up on my offer.

Pink Muffin Cups
Today at the grocery store I asked Owen what color muffin cups he wanted to buy. Given the fact that the options were white, pink, and black and white, I thought he would say "white." When he said "pink" I was surprised and asked him why he wanted pink. He said, "Because I think Buggy would like them." Sweet boy.
