Pizza Party

We had Owen and Kathryn's party last night at Sam and Greg's pizzeria in Huntsville. I think Owen and Kathryn (and Sullivan...who kept saying it was her birthday and asking where her cake was) had a wonderful time. After months of talking about themes, the kiddos finally decided on an Ariel and Spiderman party. Nancy at Cakes etc. did a fantastic job with the cakes and the pizza did not disappoint. It meant a lot to Bruce and me that the grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, aunts, and Mom's sweet neighbor, Miss Lynda, spent the evening celebrating the twins' birthday with us. My Dad and Bruce's Dad were both sick and weren't able to make it...we missed you Papa Joe and Pops. We hope you feel better soon!

I still can't believe O and K are three! It doesn't seem possible. It feels just like yesterday that Bruce and I were sitting in the recovery room holding our tiny newborn babies, wondering how in the world we were going to do it all...times two. Now here we are three years later with three healthy, beautiful, smart, sweet children. We are blessed beyond measure and I look forward to everything that this year will bring. It's bound to be an exciting ride with two three year olds and a two year old. Here are a few pictures from last night.

And just for fun...

Look how much our babies have grown!

The loft was cozy (and by "cozy" I mean a little cramped), but we were still able to accommodate two birthday themes.

Happy Birthday Owie!

Time to open presents!

3

Our sweet Owen and Kathryn turned three yesterday! Their party is tonight, but I thought I'd share a couple of pictures I snapped yesterday morning. We started the day off with birthday brownies and, as you might imagine, that was a huge hit. I'll post pictures of the party tomorrow (ok, maybe in the next few days). I can't believe our twins are three! Happy birthday Owen and Kathryn...we love you so much.

How cute are these candles?

It was 6:30 in the morning...they couldn't wait any longer.

And here's Sullivan after O and K woke her up so she could join the party.

Alex

For about the last month and a half, when I ask Sullivan what her name is she will sometimes say, "Alex." I didn't get it (until today), but thought it was really funny. So I always laugh (because you're never expecting to hear your almost-two year old call herself some random name) and say "No, you're Sullivan." She giggles and says "No I not!". Sullivan clearly thinks that little exchange is hilarious. Today I asked her again and got the "Alex" response. This time Kathryn was in the room with us, and when I asked Sullivan why she thought her name was Alex, Kathryn jumped in and said "because that's our hair cut lady's name." Wow. Do you know when Alex started cutting Sullivan's hair? A month and a half ago. Kids are so stinkin' smart!

Is It Just Me?

Is it just me, or do Rick Perry and Josh Brolin favor? If Rick Perry wins the nomination and goes on to win the election, at least we know who would probably play him in a movie one day.

Christmas Cards...Finally

In case you haven't heard, December is a pretty crazy month for us. Our anniversary is on the 23rd, Christmas is obviously on the 25th, and Owen and Kathryn's birthday is on the 29th. With everything that goes on in December, Christmas cards always fall to the bottom of my to-do list. Which is odd because I love Christmas cards! I love sending them and I love receiving them. Even though I promised myself we'd have family portraits made in October and then use those pictures for our Christmas cards, it didn't happen. Next year for sure...that would make things so much easier! I thought these turned out pretty cute though. Recognize the picture? Yep, it's the one at the top of our blog. That's pretty much the only picture I've taken of our three kiddos since this summer where everyone was dressed, smiling, and looking at the camera at the same time. So now I just have to address all of these. I should have plenty of time for that! ;) Last year I sent our cards out on Christmas Eve. Looks like that might be a new Christmas tradition of mine at this rate. Ha! Well, I guess that's it for now. Only 11 days until Christmas...Santa will be here soon!
