Day Four - He's Doing It!

Today is day four of potty-training for Owen and he is doing so well! He had four accidents the first day and one the second and since then he has been accident free. We are so proud of him, he's woken up dry each morning and the second and third night he woke up around midnight to go potty. Owen has probably been ready for this for a couple of months now, but the last thing you want to do is potty train a child during a busy time, like say, the holidays. Once we got back from Huntsville, we told Owen he had one more day in diapers and to enjoy it! New Year's Day we put big kid underwear on him and went for it. Kathryn potty-trained at 27 months and Owen potty-trained at 36 months, but they both trained in about three days. This experience has taught me (like all of my mommy friends told me a long time ago) that if you wait until they are really ready, potty training does not have to be stressful or a big deal. It will come naturally if the child is ready. Way to go Owen...we are so proud of you!

We have ONE baby in diapers. ONE. That has never happened before in our house.
